There's nothing like spending time with your kids reading books. It is fun to hear their thoughts and see their reactions to the words and stories and messages in books. The Pumpkinheads series by Karen Kilpatrick is a great set of books to share with your little ones.

Not only are they multiple award winners, but they are told in rhymes making it easy to read and fun to listen to. Your kids will never know there's a lesson in every book!

There are five different stories, characters and lessons to be learned through the series. The characters are little people on their daily adventures who stumble upon a change that needs to be made. They then take action and turn a problem into a positive, helping themselves and other children enjoy their world and each other in harmony. There is also a bonus *free* online story you can read!

As fans of Dr. Seuss, we love to hear and see the variations of books with fun text and pictures, and sometimes learn a lesson or two! This series is easy enough for early learners to read themselves and pour over the illustrations, enjoying the book and story yet again.

You and your kids will not tire of reading these together. They are a great set to have for calm time, or 'alternative' time out when a specific lesson is needed or just for some snuggles and stories before bed.

About the author: Karen been writing and telling stories to her children for as long as I can remember. She lost her mother at a young age and found herself combing through the letters she had received from her over the years for nuggets of her wisdom and guidance. She wanted to share some of the powerful life lessons through fun and simple children's stories. She decided to take the leap from attorney to author, her passion. Pumpkinheads is based on the belief that messages matter. When you start early with little things, those little things can then grow into big things. Education is the most powerful tool for change and as much as we can lay an early academic foundation for our children, we can also begin to give them the tools they will need to feel good about themselves, know that their voices count, and know that they can do good in this world! She lives with her husband and three children in Florida.
